Marrakesh Yeast Cake Print E-mail

Marrakesh cake is one of the fastest and simplest Moroccan cakes to prepare. Its name reveals its origins. If you like dates and figs, it’s the dessert for you. Try it!

Serves: 4
Preparation: 10 minutes
Baking: 40 minutes

200 gr flour
100 gr butter
3 eggs
1 packet of yeast
100 gr sugar
100 gr liquid honey
a pinch of cinnamon
100 gr dates
100 gr dried figs
Juice of an orange

Preparation:

Preheat the oven at 180° C .

Mix the sugar with the eggs and gradually add the flour and yeast. Add melted butter, cinnamon, liquid honey and orange juice and stir until it forms a thick dough.

Mince the dates and figs into small pieces and add them to the dough.

Pour the mix into a round baking pan and cover with greased baking paper or wax paper.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
