Master blaster could open with Gilchrist
20th November 2009: The Indians putting up the UK can look forward to some cricketing season with the master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar. Available information indicates English county side Middlesex is negotiating with Sachin Tendulkar for a Twenty-20 stint. If the deal materializes, the star of the Indian cricket team would open the innings with Adam Gilchrist. Tendulkar had earlier represented Yorkshire as its first overseas recruit in 1992. Middlesex Chief Executive Vinny Codrington said the club was also negotiating with Tendulkar, after signing Gilchrist. He added they had been in consultation with both Sachin Tendulkar and his agent about him joining Middlesex in 2010. Codrington added Sachin's participation was yet to be confirmed due to his busy schedule. Codrington said Middlesex was confident conversations with Sachin and his agent would be fruitful and they were looking forward to officially announcing the outcome of this in near future. |
