22rd December 2009: Check before you travel on Christmas weekend on Thursday 24 - Monday 28 December 2009, as work is on to improve the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR.
As such, TfL has urged all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check
before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend. A Saturday service
will operate on Thursday 24 December. There is no service on Christmas Day. A
Sunday service will operate on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December, starting at
08:30 and a normal Sunday service on 27 December and Bank Holiday Monday 28
December.
Thursday 24 December
A Saturday service will run on the Tube until 19:00, after which time
trains will run less frequently.
Marylebone station on the Bakerloo line will close at 21:45.
District and Circle line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars
station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for
Blackfriars are advised to use nearby
The
Waterloo & City line
trains will run every six minutes with first and last trains at Monday to
Friday times.
Christmas Day Friday 25
December
Boxing Day Saturday 26 December
There are reduced Sunday services on all Tube lines. The first trains
will run through central

In addition Buckhurst Hill,
District and Circle line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars

be completely suspended for line upgrade work. Four replacement bus services
will operate:

Metropolitan line trains will stop additionally at Willesden Green
station.
Amersham, Chesham, Chalfont
& Latimer, Chorleywood, Watford, Croxley,

Sunday 27 December
A Sunday service on all Tube
lines with the following exceptions:

There will not be any London Overground services
running.
Sunday 27 December
London Overground services will not be operating between:
Harrow & Wealdstone – Queen’s Park;
Gunnersbury– Stratford;
Gospel Oak – Barking;
Willesden Junction – Shepherd’s Bush. Valid Overground tickets
will be accepted on local bus routes, 220 between Shepherd's Bush Green and
Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd's Bush station and
Willesden Junction.
Bank Holiday Monday 28 Monday
An amended Saturday service will run on London Overground between Gospel
Oak and Barking. There will be no London Overground trains operating between:
Harrow & Wealdstone – Queen’s Park;
Gunnersbury– Stratford;
Gospel Oak – Barking;
Willesden Junction – Shepherd’s Bush. Valid Overground tickets
will be accepted on local bus routes, 220 between Shepherd's Bush Green and
Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd's Bush station and
Willesden Junction.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services at Bank will be
suspended between Thursday 24 December and the end of January 2010 while work
takes place to enable three-carriage trains to operate between Bank and
Lewisham from early 2010.
On Thursday 24 December a special service will operate starting at about
05:30 with last trains at about 11:30. DLR services will be suspended between Bank/Tower Gateway & Poplar/West
India Quay due to Investment Programme works to extend platforms enabling
three-carriage trains to be introduced from 2010.
Valid DLR tickets
will be accepted on the replacement bus services which will operate:
Service A: Bank -
Service B: Bank -

will not stop at West India Quay and Poplar, please use
