7th December 2009: London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme. So, check before you travel on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2009, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend.

London Underground

The Bakerloo line has no planned work this weekend.  

The Central line will be suspended between Leytonstone and Hainault via Newbury Park for track replacement work. Passengers travelling between Leytonstone and Hainault are advised to travel on the revised rail service via Woodford.

 A rail replacement bus service will operate between:

Leytonstone, Wanstead, Redbridge, Gants Hill, Newbury Park, Barkingside, Fairlop and Hainault.

District and Circle line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for Blackfriars are advised to use nearby Temple or Mansion House stations and/or local bus route 388. Or they can use London River Services during peak times; piers are a short walk from London Bridge, Tower Hill, Embankment, Westminster and Blackfriars stations.

The East London line is closed for major extension work until summer 2010.

The Hammersmith & City line has no planned work this weekend.

The Jubilee line will be suspended all weekend between Stanmore and West Hampstead for line upgrade work. Two replacement bus services will operate:

Service C: Between Stanmore and Stonebridge Park (for Bakerloo line services to/from central London) calling at Canons Park, Queensbury, Kingsbury and Wembley Park.

Service D: Between Wembley Park and Finchley Road calling at Neasden, Dollis Hill, Willesden Green, Kilburn and West Hampstead.

The Metropolitan line will be suspended all weekend between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the-Hill for track replacement work.  Two replacement buses will be running:

Service A: Between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Wembley Park calling at Northwick Park and Preston Road.

Service B: Between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Stonebridge Park (for Bakerloo line services to/from central London), this service runs early morning (southbound) and late night (northbound) only.

Passengers travelling between Harrow-on-the-Hill and central London are advised to use the Chiltern Railways service to/from Marylebone, extra trains will be provided. Passengers travelling between Uxbridge branch station and central London should use the Piccadilly line.

Piccadilly line trains are not stopping at Hounslow East station all weekend due to station improvement work. A replacement bus service will operate between Osterley and Hounslow East.

Archway station on the Northern line closes early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursdays until May 2010 for modernisation work.  Valid tickets will accepted on local buses between Highgate and Tufnell Park. The station will revert to full opening times between 24 December 2009 and 2 January 2010 inclusive.

Clapham South station on the Northern line closes early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday until late April 2010 for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Clapham Common or Balham. Balham station is in zone three.

Colliers Wood station on the Northern line closes early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday until 23 December for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Tooting Broadway or South Wimbledon.

Northern and Victoria line trains will not stop at Warren Street station all weekend for station improvement work. Passengers should use local bus services or nearby Euston or Goodge Street stations.

The Waterloo & City line has no planned work on Saturday. It does not run a Sunday service.

London Overground

Richmond to Stratford line

London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday. Passengers are advised to use the District line.

London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday only.  Replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.

London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday.  Replacement buses, which will run between Hampstead Heath - Gospel Oak – Kentish Town West – Camden RoadHolloway Road (for Caledonian Road & Barnsbury) - Highbury & Islington - Canonbury – Dalston Kingsland – Hackney Central – Homerton – Hackney Wick – Stratford. – 

Clapham Junction – Willesden Junction line

London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction all day on Sunday. Valid Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes, 220 between Shepherd's Bush Green and Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd's Bush station and Willesden Junction.

London Overground services will be suspended between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction from 19:00 until the end of Saturday evening. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on rail replacement buses, which will run calling at all stations.  They will also be accepted on Southern services between Clapham Junction and Shepherd’s Bush.

London Overground services will be suspended between Clapham Junction and Shepherd’s Bush on Sunday morning until 10:30, and then from 2000 until the end of service. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on Southern services between these stations.

Gospel Oak – Barking line

London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking all day on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses which calls at all stations.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR)

DLR services will be suspended all weekend between:
        Westferry – Beckton
        Westferry – Woolwich Arsenal

There will be two replacement buses:

Service A: Canary Wharf - Blackwall - East India - Canning Town - Royal Victoria - Custom House for ExCeL - Prince Regent - Royal Albert - Beckton Park - Cyprus - Gallions Reach - Beckton

Service F:  Canary Wharf - Blackwall - East India - Canning Town - West Silvertown - Pontoon Dock - London City Airport - King George V - North Woolwich Ferry.
