15^th Janbuary 2010: Check before you travel on Saturday and Sunday 16 & 17 January 2010, as work is on to improve the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR.

As such, TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend.

London Underground

The Bakerloo line will be suspended on Sunday only between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone due to Network Rail engineering work. Replacement buses will be operating between Queen’s Park - Kensal Green – Willesden Green –Harlesden - Stonebridge Park – Wembley Central stations. 

The Central line has no planned work this weekend.

The Circle line is completely suspended all weekend due to track replacement work. Passengers should use alternative Underground or local bus services.

District and Circle line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for Blackfriars are advised to use Temple or Mansion House stations or local bus route 388. Or they can use London River Services during peak times; piers are a short walk from LondonBridge, Tower Hill, Embankment, Westminster and Blackfriars stations.

The District line will be suspended all weekend between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington due to track replacement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus services.

The East London line is closed for major extension work until summer 2010.

The Hammersmith & City line will be suspended all weekend between King’s Cross St Pancras and Hammersmith due to track replacement work.  There is a replacement bus service for local journeys only between Hammersmith –Shepherd’s Bush Green – Shepherd’s Bush (Central line) – Latimer Road – Ladbroke Grove – Westbourne Park – Royal Oak – Paddington stations.

The Jubilee line is suspended between Stanmore and West Hampstead this weekend due to line upgrade work. There are two replacement bus services as follows:

Service C: Stanmore - Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury -Wembley Park - Baker Street

Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden - Dollis Hill - Willesden Green – Kilburn - West Hampstead

The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Aldgate and Baker Street all weekend due to line signalling works.  Passengers should use alternative Underground or the enhanced Chiltern Railway’s services via Marylebone and Harrow-on-the-Hill. There is a bus replacement service for local journeys:

Service A: Harrow-on-the-Hill – Northwick Park – Preston Road – Wembley Park.

The Piccadilly line trains will not be stopping at Hounslow East Station all weekend while station improvement works are carried out.  A replacement bus will operate between Osterley and Hounslow East.

Archway station on the Northern line will be closed all weekend for modernisation work. Valid tickets will be accepted on local buses between Highgate and Tufnell Park.

Clapham South and South Wimbledon stations on the Northern line will close early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday until late April 2010 for improvement works. For Clapham South, passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Clapham Common or Balham. Balham station is in zone three. For South Wimbledon use local bus services.

Warren Street Station on the Northern and Victoria lines will be closed all weekend, while station improvement works are carried out. Passengers should use local bus services or nearby stations.

The Waterloo & City line has no planned work on Saturday. It does not run a Sunday service.

London Overground

Clapham Junction – Willesden Junction

London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Sunday. Valid Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes, 220 between Shepherd's Bush Green and Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd's Bush station and Willesden Junction.

Watford Junction – Euston line

London Overground services will be suspended between Wembley Central and Queen’s Park on Sunday. Between Wembley Central and Queen’s Park replacement buses will be running calling at all stations.

Richmond to Stratford line

London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday.  Passengers are advised to use the District line.

London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.

London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford all weekend.  Replacement buses will run, calling at all stations except Caledonian Road & Barnsbury station, passengers should take the bus from Holloway Tube station instead.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR)

 DLR services at Bank will be suspended until the end of January while work takes place to enable three-carriage trains to operate between Bank and Lewisham from early 2010.
