East London barrister explains why she set up diversity scholarship - VIDEO
Barrister Miranda BrawnA new scholarship scheme has been launched by Miranda Brawn, a barrister from East London, to prepare young people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds become future leaders. Ms Brawn said she had teamed up with the Black Cultural Archives to set up the Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Scholarship. In an interview with London Live, Ms Brawn explained what inspired her to launch the scholarship: “I’m very passionate about diversity, and Britain as a whole is very diverse society, but when you look at the UK workforce, it’s not as diverse, that’s why I’ve been inspired to launch this scholarship to hopefully implement more diversity within the UK workforce.” The scholarship opened officially on 8th January 2016, and will be supporting young BAME people aged between 14 and 21 years old.
